TOBAY Supervisor Race: Candidate John Venditto

Venditto is the Republican incumbent running for Town of Oyster Bay supervisor.

John Venditto, a longtime Massapequa resident, took office in 1998 as the 59th TOBAY supervisor. Prior to being elected he served as town attorney and as a town councilman . He attended St. John's University School of Law and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1976 and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York in 1979.

The Venditto Record of HIGHER TAXES and MORE DEBT. Great.
47% INCREASE in taxes in 7 years. Almost a $BILLION in debt for the Town. Venditto gave himself a pay raise of 12% right after being re-elected 2 years ago. He raises taxes every other year so he can say he is not raising taxes in an election year. His failure of real infrastructure upkeep led to the demolition on the Hicksville LIRR Garage. The Town payroll is full of republican party commitee-members including one who resigned for theft but was rehired in a different department for MORE MONEY.

Mr. Venditto: Please share what the TOB is doing to address the lack of affordable housing for our college graduates who want to rent a place of their own when they start their post college careers. While I am familiar with the TOB senior housing options, I am not sure what efforts the TOB has made, if any, in this area.
In my opinion, the housing needs of the young people are important since we do not want to drive them away from Long Island, in search of affordable housing. Here in the beautiful Town of Oyster Bay, something needs to be done in order to reduce the brain drain here.

I share John's vision for the Town of Oyster Bay. Count me in.

His vision is increase taxes, increase spending, increase debt and hire more cronies.

My experience with most lawyers is they are lost once numbers come into play

And how do you conclude that. John Venditto has done right by the people of the TOB. Just take Hicksville for example. They pay the lowest of any other town in Nassau County, all under Venditto's watch. But no, just keep your blinders on, you are after all in the business of bashing Republicans. Continue on with your sad patheitc little campaign.

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
