Mejias Returning to Politics - Sort Of

Former Nassau County Legis. Dave Mejias is being billed as the special guest at a political fundraiser at the Nutty Irishman on Main Street in Farmingdale on July 27.

The Nassau County Democratic Committee sent out a note Wednesday night pumping Mejias as part of the event, designed to raise funds for Eva Pearson's bid to unseat Republican Joe Belesi in the 14th Legislative District race.

It was Belesi who edged out Mejias for the seat two years ago.

Then last year, accusations by a former girlfriend led to a reckless endangerment charge, but those charges were last month.
