Nassau County and the Cosmos

Should the county let the rebooted soccer team renovate Mitchel Field?

The New York Cosmos have made a bid renovate a soccer field at the Mitchel Field  Athletic Complex, which they want to use as a practice facility.

The Cosmos, who are reviving the name of the legendary 1970s North American Soccer League franchise, say they'll spend more than $400,000. They would pay rent ranging from $7,500 to $56,400 over a ten year lease.

This ia on top of plans the team revealed in January tho build a soccer stadium near Belmont Racetrack.
