Oyster Bay Announces April's Distinguished Artists' Concerts

Four free concerts available to town residents.

residents will be treated to four performances during April as part of the "Distinguished Artists" concert series at area public libraries.

The four April concerts, all free to residents, offer a diverse mix of musical styles: They are: 

  • Saturday April 2: The Manhattan Jazz Quintet, featuring the music of Broadway, including George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin. The Syosset Public Library at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday April 3: Seven Bridges Road, a seven- piece classic rock band that plays music spanning the Doo-Wop era through the 80’s,at the Farmingdale Public Library at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday April 3: All4One Piano Duo, a storytelling and piano rendering of chamber music. The Locust Valley Public Library at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday April 17: Libby Richman and Co., where the composer and alto saxophonist leads an ensemble in original contemporary jazz. Farmingdale Public Library at 2 p.m.




    “The performances scheduled for this month’s ‘Distinguished Artists’ program truly represent an opportunity for residents to experience a wide variety of completely different musical styles and, hopefully, give them a chance to expand their musical tastes outside of what they may normally listen to,” said Councilman Chris Coschignano. 

    The is sponsored by the Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) Division of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Department of Community & Youth Services. Anyone interested in obtaining a schedule of free concerts should call 797-7900.
