The Town of Oyster Bay joined many other communities around the globe in taking a stand against smoking related deaths, Friday.
The town took part in "World No Tobacco Day," an day put together by the World Health Organization to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking.
While health issues in Massapequa are handled for the most part at the state and county level. But local government does have an influence.For example, the Village of Massapequa park has been looking to bring a health facility to the area.
