DA: Former Wantagh Man Pleads Guilty to Scamming…

Tell Us: How Is Your Street Doing?

Are the streets cleared in your neighborhood?

Is your street clear of snow? The blizzard dumped nearly more than a foot of  snow on Plainview on top of a layer of ice.

Check out photos from Patch readers of the blizzard here.

Has your street been fully plowed? How long did it take crews to clear your street? Were cars cleared from the streets in time or are they buried under snow drifts?

Tell us in the comments! If your street is still in trouble, please identify it.

K. There is a Town regulation that they do need to clear the sidewalk, but here is the rub, you need to fill out a form, with your name on it so they can come and inspect. They won't do it if you just call. This way they get your name on paper and let your neighbor know that you called. I have the same issue with my kids and the bus stop, people just don't care and that is a shame. These are the same people that expect you to call the cops if you see a stranger approach their house or car, generosity works both ways. If someone doesn't have the decency to clear an area for our kids to wait for the bus, good luck getting me to help you out.

I leave in Plainview off of Washington Ave. No complaints here. They did a great job in removing the snow. Came through a couple of times during and after it stopped.

Sylvia Lane in Plainview was plowed before I woke up at 7:00 AM Saturday morning! Nice job by the Town; no complaints in our neighborhood.

If there is a problem at the bus stop corner, call the Town and complain. This was a constant problem on my street when my kids (and many others the same age) were in school. The kids were forced to stand in the street--or climb over huge snowbanks. In our case, the Town sent a crew to clear a space for the kids to wait for the school bus, and the kids didn't have to stand in the road.

The Town did a fine job in my neighborhood. It helped that a lot of people put their cars in their driveway before the storm, so the plows were able to clear the street all the way to the curbs.
