Town to Hold Hearing on Cable Franchise

Cablevision looking to renew franchise.

The Oyster Bay Town  will hold a hearing Tuesday, August 10 on a request by Cablevision to renew their franchise agreement, officials announced on Friday.

The purpose of the meeting " is to assess the Town’s future cable television needs and the past performance of cable service in the Town, as well as address the proposed renewal agreement," Supervisor John Venditto said.

A representative from the cable company is expected to be in attendance and there will be an opportunity for public comment, a town spokeswoman said.
