Weigh in on Grumman Groundwater Cleanup

Area water districts have been critical of the State Department of Environmental Conservation on the clean-up of the former Grumman site. Who's right?

Area water districts are at odds with the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation over the Cleanup of toxic groundwater flowing from a former Grumman aerospace site in Bethpage.

The DEC held a meeting this week to get public comment about the cleanup efforts. The meeting was well attended by residents of Massapequa and members of the Massapequa water district.

The water district recently sent a letter and thousands of petitions to Gov. Cuomo critical of the state, saying they're dragging their feet on the issue.
