Weigh in on Mitt Romney and Peter King

Rep. King hopes to represent a new congressional district and he says Mitt Romney will carry it in November. Do you agree?

Rep. Peter King, R-Seaford, says he likes Mitt Romney's chances to carry Massapequa and the rest of his new congressional district

King said in a recent interview that he believes the Republican nominee will be successful despite the fact that President Obama took the area in 2008.

King was re-elected to represent New York's 3rd Congressional district in 2008 and is now running in the third congressional district because of redistricting, but he believes Romney is going to appeal to middle income families in November.

We want to know what you think. take our poll below and weigh in with your comments.

Romney and Ryan are a good serious team, we have paid enough for Obama to travel on Air Force One, rather than do the job we elected him to do!

Love him or leave him (personally, I say leave him), I feel most people know where Peter King stands. What I'm wondering is, where the heck is King's opponent? I've rigorously Googled, but can't find any info on Vivianne Falcone other than she's from West Islip. Every news outlet, including this one, only mentions her in passing and says she won't return calls. I consider myself a liberal, but Miss/Mrs. Falcone and county Democrats should know I won't vote for someone I don't know anything about.

Is Obama the President or trying for his PGA Tour card?

Just remember what will happen to social security and Medicare under Romney. He will scuttle those programs for seniors. He wants a voucher system for health insurance which will cost more for seniors. Also the changes will affect more for the younger people under 55 years of age. Also the tax cuts will end up costing more taxes under Romney then under Obama.Check the newspapers and some of the news programs to get a broader view as to what happens when either candidate gets in and vote for the lesser of to evils.Remember, with Romney you get someone who echos George Bush the second s physical policies. He blew the surplus that Clinton had left him.

If you haven't noticed Obama is already gutting medicare under his plan. Romney wants to SAVE it.

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
