Winter Storm Watch Issued for Long Island

Snow may be headed here Sunday into Monday.

If you're dreaming of a  "White Day After Christmas" you may be in luck.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Long Island for Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon. The watch means that there's a potential for significant snow that may impact travel conditions.

The storm would bring up to 6 to 12 inches of snow and heavy gusty winds.

Light snowfall would begin Sunday morning with the heaviest accumulation coming late Sunday night into early Monday morning. Wind gusts of up to 40mph are possible at that time.
