The Fall Prevention Program with Winthrop University Hospital at Massapequa Public Library

2 sessions

Session one will focus on Mature Adults and Caregivers, and will focus on identifying individuals at risk for falling as well as presenting preventative tips for avoiding a fall in the future.  This program includes risk assessment (why do people fall?) and ways to reduce risks (medication review, exercise and modification of the home environment).

Session two is focused on balance and strengthening exercises.  This program teaches easy exercises to do at home that help to retrain and improve balance and help to increase upper and lower body strength.
