The Sachem East Girls Varsit Basetball team has captured its second Long Island Championship in four years, defeating Massapequa by a score 55-50 at Hofstra University.
Massapequa made it interesting at the end, sinking a 3-pointer and getting control of the ball with 20 seconds left, but Emily Carmel sealed the deal on the foul line, sinking both shots and sending the Flaming Arrows to the top of the heap.
