Some Massapequa students got a look at Ivy League life recently when members of the mock trial team participated in a Harvard Seminar recently.

The team was invited for the first time to Harvard's High School Training Seminar where they received instruction on public speaking and trial advocacy skills and also learned the ins and outs of the Federal Rules of Evidence.

They worked with college students who've won awards ath the Collegiate National Championship Tournament.

“What was most amazing about this experience was watching the team prepare an 86-page case pattern in two days,” said  team advisor Dan Bachman.  “The students worked from first thing in the morning until they went to bed. They demonstrated an intellectual level of perseverance that was astonishing to watch

Attendees included seniors Rebecca Girardin, Jenna Petrungaro, Christie Flanders, Cameron Wunderlin, Justin Jakubowski  and  juniors Selin Solen, Jeremy Wiss, Griffin Konen, Emily O'Leary, Nicole Feeley, Nicolle Dananberg, Taylor DelValle, Jillian Prystupa and Katie McMahon.
