Unqua Elementary School is postponing Friday's planned field day, school officials said.
The school is moving the event until Monday morning because rain is in the forecast for Friday, the district wrote in a letter to parents.
As a result the school kitchen will be closed Monday but there will be lunch service on Friday. Parent volunteers who can't make it for Monday are advised to call the school.
The National Weather Service is calling for rain to begin after 4 a.m. Friday and continue through much of the day into Friday night.
