Weigh in on School Budget Process

How much are you following what's going on?

We're right in the heart of school budget season and it has been a difficult one  for the Massapequa School District.

School officials say the state's new tax cap law is responsible for difficult cuts in the 2012-2013 spending plan.

and administrators warn things could be worse over the next few years.

There are gearing up for a possible run for the school board.

The budget is set to be approved by the Board of Education next month and it will go before voters in May.

We want to know how closely you're following the process. Take our poll below, and weigh in with your comments.

The tax cap should stay. Overpaid and unnecessary administrators should go. Districts should be combined, much as the police precincts will be combined.

And so many of them! And many people seem to share your thoughts. Is anyone saying this at the Board Meeting? Wish Massapequa parents would get together and make a difference.
