North Massapequa Man Inducted into Senior Softball Hall of Fame
Bill Capparelli honored for longtime service.
He's spent a lifetime serving his community and catching crooks, but Bill Capparelli can also catch a flyball.
The 74-year-old North Massapequa resident was recently honored with induction into the Long Island Senior Softball Association.
The ceremony, sponsored by Bristal assisted living paid tribute his onn and off field accomplishments.
Capparelli is a retired New York City police officer who served in the military and volunteers at the Northport VA Hospital. He also plays two doubleheaders a week in the outfield with the LISSA Cubs.
Long Island Senior Softball is an over 60 league with 19 teams in Nassau and Suffolk COuntie.
