Event raises money for special needs kids.
It was a great way to burn calories before eating all that candy.
The Tenth Annual Sleepy Hollow 5K Charity Run at Brady Park gave runners throughout the area a brisk workout while raising money for some worthy causes, this past Halloween.
There were sunny skies and a fall chill, making for good conditions for distance runners. The money raised went to the Carman Foundation which serves children with disabilities and the Hagedorn Little Village School, a special needs school in Seaford.

This years overall winner and top male was Billy Holl of Bayport with a time of 16:17. The second place finisher and top female was Leonora Petrina with a time of 17:09. Both young and old participants enjoyed this event. There was even an 82 year old contestant. Many contestants ran in costume.
The scenic course of this 5K weaves through the Massapequa Preserve and Brady Park. Spectators on hand voiced support for the race winners and all participants helping to boost their energy level and propel them across the finish line.
