Photos: Massapequa Football Falls to Freeport 34-16

Chiefs drop to 1-2.

The Massapequa Chiefs dropped a tough game at home over the weekend falling 34-16 Saturday.

The Chiefs did get a long touchdown by Taylor Bocchiaro and another TD by Vassili Grigorakos, but it was not enough to ver come the stellar play of Freeport quarterback Isaiah Barnes, who threw for 128 yards and one touchdown and rushing for another.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game," Freeport coach Russ Cellan said.

"No matter how good they are no matter how good we are this is a pretty big rivalry.  We got off to a pretty quick start and made some big plays but then they got us for a safety  and they got a quick score after that and it was a game again."

Massapequa (1-2) travels to Port Washington Thursday afternoon to try to even their record.
