Beaches Closed to Bathing

Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels and affecting bathing water quality.

The Nassau County Department of Health has closed 18 beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure after Monday's heavy rainfall.

This is the third time in the last few weeks these beaches have been closed.

Nearby, Hewlett Point and Island Park beaches are affected.
