Cub Scouts Pitch in For Earth Day

Local youths volunteer to cleanup Brady Park

Massapequa Cub Scouts showed community spirit and love for their planet  as they celebrated Earth Day by pitching in to cleanup Brady Park.

Members of Pack 696 went to Brady Park and Preserve Saturday and volunteered to do several hours of litter removal.

They also  did some nature watching and spotted white owls, carp and a toad, with many scouts earning wildlife badges.

The Village of Massapequa Park held their Earth Day Celebration over the weekend with residents going to through parks and parking lots near the LIRR station to clean up.
