Town Holds Blood Drive

Massapequa residents can donate at Town Hall South

The town of Oyster Bay is holding its semi-annual blood drive Thursday. 

Massapequa residents can donate blood at Town Hall South  located at 911 Hicksville Road from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or at other venues throughout the town.

Other locations for the blood drive are: Town Hall North at 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay  from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; The Department of Public Works at 150 Miller Place, Syosset from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center at 28 West Carl Street, Hicksville from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Town employees may donate at the Department of Public Works at the Blood Mobile, 150 Miller Place until 11:45 a.m.

To qualify as a blood donor,  you must between the ages of 17 and 75 years . If you are 16, you can donate  with parental permission .

If you are  76 or older you can donate if you have a doctor's note. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated blood within the last 56 days. 

Officials are looking for all blood types especially O positive and O negative. The Town will provide refreshments for everyone who donates.
