UFC Legend Matt Serra Helps Massapequa Boy Battle Cancer

Mixed martial arts star helps host fundraiser at Mulcahy's of Wantagh for 2-year old Bobby Genovese.

UFC legend Matt Serra helped host a fundraiser at Wantagh’s  this past Saturday to support a young boy in his battle with liver cancer.

The event was aimed at raising funds for 2-year old Bobby Genovese of North Massapequa, who has been diagnosed with stage three liver cancer. Serra, a Massapequa resident and East Meadow native, is a UFC welterweight champion who won season four of the Spike TV show The Ultimate Fighter and showed his support for the Genovese family in their quest to get a new liver for Bobby.

The fundraiser featured music by the Tone Freaks, food and an open bar. T-shirts, polo’s and tank tops with the words “Little Bobby’s Battle” were sold throughout the event. There was also a live auction with prizes such as Yankee tickets, autographed sports memorabilia, a variety of electronics and vacations.
