Hot Supe With Cold Temps This Week

A look at the week ahead.

It's the week of the big game and it may be played in some difficult weather. 

Here's a look ahead:

Super Bowl: For the first time ever the Super Bowl will be played in the New York-New Jersey area. It will kick off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. with the game to be shown on FOX.  Another first adds intrigue to the meeting between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. Super Bowl XLVIII will mark the first time the game is played outdoors at a cold weather site. We may see some snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather: Super Bowl Sunday won't be the time we'll look at the weather this week. It's expected to be extremely cold on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Village Board: The Massapequa Park Village Board meets Monday at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, 151 Front Street in Massapequa Park.

Library Event: Saturday is "Take Your Child to the Library Day. Kids can get their library card  make crafts and read stories. It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be story time readings at the Bar Harbour branch at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Hoops: Massapequa's Boys team hosts Farmingdale at 4 p.m. Friday. The Girls team travels to Farmingdale for a 4 p.m. game.
