Snow Forecast and Short Work Week Ahead

A look at the week's events in Massapequa.

As we head back to work following the Martin Luther King holiday, we may have some messy weather coming. We also have some town news to tell you about. 

Here's a look ahead:

Snow: The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. The forecast calls for 8 to 14 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph.

Sanitation/S.O.R.T.: Those scheduled to receive sanitation pickup on Monday will receive it Tuesday due to the holiday. Those who normally receive pickup on Tuesday will receive it Wednesday. 

Town Board: The Oyster BayTown Board will meet  Tuesday at 10 a.m. 

Facilities Task Force: The Massapequa School District's advisory Task Force on Facilities will meet Tuesday night at 7 p.m.  The task force was created to respond to issues related to student enrollment, which has been on the decline for several years.

PTSA: There will be a meeting of the Massapequa Jr./Sr. PTSA Wednesday at the Ames Campus of Massapequa High School. It starts at 7:30 p.m.
