Village Board Meets and Summer Winds Down This Week

Here's what's happening this week in and around Massapequa.

Summer may be winding down but the countdown to the final holiday weekend of the season gets underway this week.

Here's a look at what's ahead:

Village Board: The Massapequa Park Village Board holds a meeeting Monday which will include a public hearing on a proposal to extend the terms of the village cab franchise. The meeting will be at Village Hall, 151 Front Street at 8 p.m.

School Orientation: The Massapequa School District moves one step closer to starting the  new year with 9th grade orientation at Massapequa High School's Ames Campus, Thursday.

Story Time: The kids may be about to go back to school, but they can stay up a little bit later Tuesday night when the Central Avenue Library hosts a pajama story time.

Movie: Thursday will be movie day at the Bar Harbour Library. There will be two showings of "The Impossible at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
