Holiday Parade, Turkey Trot, Psychic Adventure This Weekend

Farmingdale Chamber Annual Holiday Parade

• The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will present their annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, Nov. 23.   
• The parade begins at 12 Noon at Northside School and features a Farmingdale Public School Marching Band, Daler Kickline and Hardscrabble Girl Scouts in holiday costume. 
• Come see the parade along Main Street and visit Santa at the Village Green!  Santa will be handing out candy canes and saying hello to all the boys and girls. This is an opportunity to take your holiday photo with Santa, so bring your camera!

• Join us in the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot!  The fourth annual Turkey Trot will take place on Sat, Nov. 23.  
• The youth fun run will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m.  There is a stroller division too! 
• This race benefits YES Community Counseling Center.

• We are sponsoring 100 Thanksgiving meals. If you can sponsor a meal, pleas email us at info@myconnectchurch.com and provide info. We will contact you.

• Dr. Henry Ostrer a medical geneticist will speak during our Friday night services. 
• Dr. Ostrer investigates the genetic basis of common and rare disorders and translates these findings into tests that can be used to identify people's risks for having a disease. 
• Dr. Ostrer also studies the genetic basis of prostate and breast cancers as well as disorders of sex development.

• Join us for an afternoon of healing! Gallery style readings with the Famous Janet Russell. Fee is $50 includes light food and wine.  
• Must RSVP limited space we are keeping this an intimate gathering of 25 guests!

• For more than 20 years, the Merrick-Bellmore Brotherhood Council a free concert to usher in the holiday season. 
• This year's concert, scheduled for Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at Calhoun High School, will feature hundreds of local vocalists. 
• Choruses from our high school and singers from our houses of worship will participate. 

• So, you've been sitting in your house all week with your eyes glued to BBC America, wiping your anticipatory droolings up with your 12 foot scarf as the whole universe gears up for the world premiere of 'The Day of the Doctor'.  
• But, similar to the frequently absentminded Doctor himself, you didn't have a plan for when it was over!

• New Jersey Architect Stephen Schwartz will join us to help us build the largest menorah out of legos.
