Although Mercato's slogan is 'life happens in the kitchen,' this restaurant's dining room is alive with conversation, laughter, clinking glasses and ongoing service. The decor is trendy with contemporary artwork on the walls. The menu includes some traditional Italian dishes such as fried calamari and penne alla vodka, but it also includes some creative twists on the classics such as mercato mac and a bruschetta burger. It is located in the Southgate shopping center with plenty of parking.
