We have enough local traffic in the area. It seemed like a good idea to have DQ We don't needRead More people traveling miles from areas to clog our roads more. What a nightmare just to do a simple errand. LESS TRAFFIC! WHAT A NIGHTMARE GETTING AROUND!
Warren Teich June 16, 2013 at 09:16 pm
I drove 70 miles roundtrip for my blizzard fix. I wish Dairy Queen would come out to central SuffolkRead More County . Im envious that you have a Dairy Queen. I waited over 2 hours last monday. I guess a little traffic isnt too bad.
Mark June 12, 2013 at 03:42 pm
Not to ruin all the "One and Only" frenzy but including this new Long Island DQ location,Read More I believe New York now has 30 DQ's. You people need to do a little traveling in your own state! Also if there are any sane people left in the Long Island area that agree with me that waiting more then 10 minutes for ICE CREAM is crazy, both Friendlys and Carvel have no wait.
susie June 13, 2013 at 12:16 pm
sad how you will never see lines to protest anything or donate blood! No wonder the world hates us.

YAY! Just hope the traffic subsides soon; it took me 1/2 hour to get from Broadway to Waldbaums! IRead More thought they should have taken over the old Wiz store. The parking would have been far better and the traffic would not have clogged up Sunrise Highway. I haven't been there yet, but will be soon. I'm counting on them having an American staff. I stopped going to BK & McDonalds because I couldn't understand a word they said--and, apparently, they couldn't understand me either--always a mistake on the order! Hopefully, it will calm down soon. But-- I'm THRILLED to have DQ here in Massapequa! Good luck to the owners and staff.

I haven't been there yet however, I was stuck in the traffic on Sunrise trying to get to Waldbaums.Read More The traffic was so bad that I thought there had to be an accident and when I got closer, I realized the DQ had opened. Honestly, I am glad for the owners/staff but to be honest, to see a line snaking along Sunrise and down the block was a bit much. Does everyone need a blizzard that bad. I'll wait until the crowd dies down hopefully!!!!
Joseph Ambrose June 14, 2013 at 08:17 pm
I drove by the site on my way home Tuesday night and was amazed at the line snaking down Unqua RoadRead More all the way down to Merrick Road..... I'm Glad DQ is back, and I'll get there after the novelty dies down. I feel sorry for the new staff, they must be slammed. Nothing like trial by Blizzard....8-)

Annoyed as I was about gas prices immediately after Sandy, I have to admit that there's no suchRead More thing as gouging in a country that claims to espouse economic liberty. The price should be whatever the market can bear. The reason lines were so long is because price was too low given the demand.
FJDietz May 6, 2013 at 06:58 am
The Mobil gas station nearest me was able to stay open after Sandy and raised prices considerably.Read More But this was completely justified considering the owner of the gas station rented to large industrial sized generators to provide power to keep his business operating. Those generators don't come cheap especially under such emergency circumstances. Next time, I wouldn't do what he did as he can look forward to being accused of "gauging" by the state bureaucrats. Remember, "no good deed ever goes unpunished."

What about the Sunoco station just south of the BP at Jerusalem ave? Everyone was complaining aboutRead More their prices too.
John Rennhack May 3, 2013 at 07:34 pm
The Sunoco owner spent his own money to rent tankers to bring gas up from the Carolinas. He couldRead More have shut down after he ran out but did what he could to help the community.

the gas station owners have families. why do people need to point fingers when they don't know theRead More enter scope of the situation. does anyone know where gas station owners get their gas from and how they pay for it? NO. but you NEED to make someone pay for ur problems. get over it
