Cops: Passengers, Child Escape Accident Unharmed

Westbound collision happened at tail end of rush hour in Massapequa.

Passengers, including one child, escaped a car accident unharmed Monday morning on the Southern State Parkway, according to Farmingdale-based State Police.

The two-car collision happened just after 9 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Exit 30 in Massapequa, cops confirmed.

According to responding officers, the minor accident that resulted in little to no damage to the two cars involved.

Police said a child seated in one of the cars was evaluated for injuries but was cleared. All other drivers and passengers were reportedly unharmed.

Police said they decided against closing lanes on the parkway at the tail end of rush hour.
