Police: North Massapequa Man Busted for Fake Prescriptions

Accused of trying to get Xanax.

A North Massapequa man stole prescription slips from a doctor and tried to use them to get Xanax from two pharmacies,  police said.

Christopher Chiofalo, 26, allegedly took the slips from a pad while visiting his doctor and  wrote out the prescriptions himself.

When he tried to fill them, pharmacists became suspicious and notified the doctor, who realized they were  stolen, cops said.

Chiofalo was arrested at his home Thursday and was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance, identity theft, and criminal possession of stolen property.
