Update: Woman Killed on Sunrise Highway
Police: Elderly woman struck by car in Massapequa.
Update, 5:30 p.m.: Police have identified the victim as Grace Rinaldi, 75, of East Meadow.
An elderly woman was struck by a car and killed on Sunrise Highway Friday night, Nassau County Police said.
The 75-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released, was walking in the eastbound lane of the highway when she was hit by a Honda Accord at 9:30 p.m.
She was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later.
Police said there was no criminality at this time. Brake and safety checks were conducted on the car.
