Massapequa Resident Named to Humane Law Enforcement Post

Gary Rogers to be County's Coordinator for prevention of cruelty to animals.

A Massapequa resident and longtime animal advocate has been named to a post with Nassau County.

Gary Rogers, has been tabbed to be the county's Coordinator for prevention of cruelty to animals.

Rogers was one of the founders of the Suffolk County SPCA and has been a spokesman for the Nassau SPCA.

"Gary has dedicated his life to the protection of animals and his credentials as a humane law enforcement officer will be a great asset to the animals of Nassau County," said County Executive Edward Mangano.

"I am proud to have Gary as part of our administration.”

Rogers is volunteering his services and will not be paid, Mangano said.
