Massapequa Field Hockey Wins Conference Title

Massapequa High School's Field Hockey team shut out Port Washington 6-0 Sunday to win the Nassau County Conference II championship.

Gabby Curtis and Michele Cook had two goals apiece and the Chiefs broke out to a 5-0 lead after the first half. They each had an assist on the day as well. Rachel Sieber and Jamie Ahrens scored the other two for Massapequa, and Ahrens added three assists.

Before the title game, Massapequa beat Sewanhaka 4-0 in the semifinals. Curtis scored two goals in that game as well, with Elizabeth Rescigno and Christina Conkling adding the other two.
